**Apply for FEMA Assistance – Online is the Fastest Option**
Helene victims now have until Feb. 6, 2025, to apply for FEMA assistance. Disaster Unemployment Assistance has also been deadline extended! File claims for Sept. 29, 2024 – March 29, 2025, if Helene impacted your employment. File online at des.nc.gov or call 888-737-0258.

. - Mobile sampling lab availability through DEQ/EPA
NC DEQ DWR has coordinated with EPA Region 4 to station a mobile lab at 20 Canoe Lane, Asheville NC 28804 at AB Tech Community College in Woodfin. The lab will process free Total coliforms and E. coli. Method 9223B for drinking water compliance to aid in lifting boil water advisories. The tests will have a 48-hr turnaround.
